Richards verdict on Okore

Micah Richards is thrilled to see Jores Okore back involved with the first team - and also praised the defender's infectious personality around Bodymoor Heath.

Okore has now returned to training after missing the start of the campaign following knee surgery.

The Danish defender was on the bench against Southampton, confirming his availability for action.

Richards believes Okore will offer big competition at the heart of the back four.

And he thinks Okore's character will be a big asset as Villa look to climb the table.

He said: "It's great to see Jores back.

"I have had a knee injury before so I know what Jores has had to go through. It's not easy. It's difficult.

"He's been training for a number of weeks now and he's looked really sharp.

"Hopefully he can play a massive part in us getting some points on the board. We're happy to see him back.

"It's horrible when you're out and can't contribute to the team. I have had that before - it's no fun.

"I watched a few of the games he played last season and I was very impressed. He did very well. To have him back now is a huge boost.

"It's good having Ciaran Clark back too after his spell out injured. I am happy for him also."

On his upbeat disposition, Richards added: "Jores is a top guy. He's a happy character.

"It's good to have guys like that around the place.

"He's managed to stay confident through his injury lay-off and I am sure when he gets his chance he will do really well for us."

Ugh... Sorry, KMac, but "Premier League Experience" isn't going to win us this match... This lineup is so depressing, and I have a very bad feeling about the result.

Hopefully this is the last time we see Gabby anywhere near the starting line up for a long long long time.

I'd play the below. Then bring on Westwood at 65 for Veretout and Gil for Grealish. Get Gestede to come on at 85 if we're winning to defend set pieces. Let him come on at 75 for hoof balls if we're losing.
