Can Villa lift the FA Cup?
Re: ASTON VILLA Vs ARSENAL : FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 5:30pm.
He was in a training ground shot from this week. Unless they were old training shots (they were on Twitter) but I'm about 90% certain it was this week - mostly because they were posted with the point that he was smiling. But then there were shots of him in the dressing room at Wembley celebrating with the players, so despite certain opinions, I do think he at least gets on with people, even if that probably doesn't include the manager!

My point was that don't expect the team to be anything like those that played the last 2 games. I fully expect Tim to throw a shock inclusion in there to really disrupt arsenals plan for the game because a predictable villa is a beatable villa

Fair enough. I suppose it worked with Graham Fenton in 1994....!

Re: ASTON VILLA Vs ARSENAL : FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 5:30pm.
Watching the BBC build up programmes have only whetted my appetite for Saturday
Wimbledon V Liverpool final
Coventry V Spurs final
West Ham V Arsenal final
Hull V Man City final
Sunderland V Leeds
Wrexham knocking out Arsenal , Sutton Utd beating Coventry , Bizagalu (spelling) scoring three past the Albion !
Also the strange quirks with Benteke about to play his 100th game and he has scored 49 goals , Falkirk winning the Scottish Cup in 1913 & 1957 , both years Villa won the FA Cup !
its our turn guys , it must be !

In fairness I don't see that being much of an issue. We won't be peppered with an aerial onslaught by Arsenal...Given's major weakness is dealing with crosses.
I'm far more worried about their runners from midfield (see Southampton)......I would be inclined to start with Sanchez and Westwood deep, Delph, Grealish and Cleverly in front of them.....all three can get forward to support Benteke. We have to stay in the game early....we have Sinclair etc that can come on in 2nd half and try and stretch Arsenal...but we can't afford to be 3 or 4 down from going gung-ho from the get-go!!
------------------Given
Bacuna -- Okore -- Vlaar -- N'Zogbia/Richardson
---------Westwood -- Sanchez
----Cleverley -- Grealish -- Delph
---------------Benteke
There's a lot of energy in that middle 5...they will need to press Arsenal and stop them playing. 2 wingers at full back can help us get some width at the right times.

Id still rather have Guzan -
But all 11 are going to have to put in sterling performances to win this one.....UTV

Quick FYI, Gil is in the video, so rumours of him Spain are just bull shit yet again.
I mean, he was seen leaving the ground before the QPR game - confirmed by a few people - and a thing was made of it, but pretty much every journo there also said he was in an executive box during the game. So either he goes and comes back for some reason (maybe he goes to get some dinner!) or he has a remarkable lookalike.
Either way, I think people are trying to make stories where there isn't one.
Wouldn't be the first time either, after all, a couple of weeks ago Benteke was ready to go on strike wasn't he, so...

As I said, I believe he did against QPR, but he was back for the game. I reckon he goes the bookies :)

Re: ASTON VILLA Vs ARSENAL : FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 5:30pm.
Well I will be shortly setting off for London, making a weekend of it.
My head says 3-1 Arsenal but I will be there so I am letting my heart rule my head and say a 2-1 Villa win!
Hopefully Villa won't get a drubbing but it could happen with how Sherwood sets us up to play.
I just want to be proud to be a Villa fan when I walk away from Wembley tomorrow night, that is all I ask!
To anyone else making the trip have a safe trip and enjoy the occasion!

Good luck to you all, couldn't get a ticket unfortunately this time but will be there in spirit with you all
Here's a tip which worked really well on Karl Heinz Rumminegge in the European cup final... I was there and we actually did this which seemed to work ...
Every time an Arsenal player is about to shoot, when there is usually a moment of horrified silence in the crowd as they hold their breath in dread, shout as loud as you can a random word. We very weirdly, considering they are the actual opponents tomorrow, used to shout "ARSENAL" really fast & loud & i swear this puts them off just a tiny bit when shouted just at the moment when they are about to shoot and thus trying to concentrate. It's a little bit like throwing a mental spanner into their head just at the critical moment but has to be something they are not expecting to hear.... So maybe shout BAYERN this time which in a very odd way would complete the circle we started 33 years ago.
We used this on Ruminegge in Rotterdam and he missed and countless other times in the year we won the League and it always seemed to work we saw some right sitters missed Always used to stand behind the goal to do it.
It may well be just coincidence of course but anythings worth a go if they're about to score.

Yes, sadly I foresee a sound thrashing too. I'll just try and enjoy the day, well at least until 5.30.

I'm watching the Cup Final at home with all the family. We're going to start early (9am) watching the BBC all day coverage while marinating Steaks etc. and producing a buffet table to die for. Extra beds are being made up for the family to sleep over so we can all drink copiously and have a bloody good time. Win or lose we're going to have a day to remember.
I hope you guys who've got tickets to the match have a really spectacular day out, you deserve it for the money and effort you've put into it. Those of you like me who'll be cheering on the Villa from our armchairs, I wish you all a day to treasure in the years to come. Up the Villa!

I'm going to be watching it on my phone in a wedding in London I really don't want to be at. My father-in-law and brother-in-law I think will be escaping with me to watch it in the pub. I'm trying to get some friends to gatecrash the wedding around five PM so I can get blamed and thrown out with them! My wife wouldn't let me buy a pale blue velvet suit, just the Villa tie for me tomorrow.
