Can Villa lift the FA Cup?
Re: ASTON VILLA Vs ARSENAL : FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 5:30pm.
Yes he looked like a man who didn't care.....maybe he has a couple hundred million burning a hole in his pocket.

He did which I found odd. Even part-time faux-fan William looked gutted. So why was Randy smiling? I reckon his Plan B was a load of shit and Plan A has already happened.
Give it a fortnight for this embarassment to fade a little and a sale announcement will be made. Just a feeling.

Arsenal were superb. We were shit. But...
That fucking referee was a sugarbag. Couldn't wait to dish out yellow cards for us and waved away two nailed on penalties.

Re: ASTON VILLA Vs ARSENAL : FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 5:30pm.
Benteke incorrectly called offside when through on goal within the first 5 minutes. our midfielders then neutered by yellow cards for minor touches on Arsenal players. last 10 minutes 2 clear penalties not given.
Ref must be a Villa fan. if we were in the Europa League next season relegation from the Premier League would be guaranteed due to fatigue and injuries, since we won't get the investment required to fund two competitive squads.
Even so, might have let us have one of the penalties. to deny them both was over-kill. surely we weren't going to come back from 3-0 in the last five minutes against Arsenal.

I had excused the last couple of losses due to players saving themselves for this game; now I realise it was just end-of-season drift into oblivion.
Tim looked furious - he might have to held back in the changing room.

Not one of the players out there deserved the support they got from the fans today. In fact Id even go as far as to say that Richardson was our best player while he was on with about a 6/10 performance

I have to laugh at some Villa fans blaming Sherwood, Arsenal outplayed us in every department they have exceptional players and as someone said we have too many players who are not simply good enough, the days of having top level players have gone and we are going to continually to struggle till someone buys us and invests.

And whilst we're at it ... Alexis Sanchez has allegedly scored one of the greatest Wembley goals ever?
It went in at the centre of the goal after Given jumped the wrong way and flailed a hand at it. Guzan is number 1 even if he can't kick.

I didn't remove it. What did you say? I'll happily put it back. Lol
That was a bit naughty of me but it seems this bloke has been waiting for this day to act the clown. Knowing how we'd be feeling, he jumps in here commenting for effect. 9 posts and (I think) all of them crap.

I thought he was our best player too. Just shows how bad the rest of them were.
Was a day when we just didn't show up and Arsenal brought their A game.

Yeah considering he had been injured, he was really decent today.

Gutted, don't post very often. Can't look beyond the lack of investment personally. Sherwood can't be blamed for players being unable to perform. Can't imagine Sherwood needed a manager to make him care when he was a player. Next week will be interesting judging by Sherwood's post match comments.

Right, onto more positive things; did anyone spot any Chinese, Arab, Azerbaijani or Micky Arison looking people around Lerner and Fox?

Yep we all knew that if we never got into Arsenal they would pass it round us and so it proved, we looked very lack lustre out there today, 2 really good shouts for a penalty but other than that nothing. Lets hope the take over happens VERY quickly and we can get some good players in, I think there will be lots of this squad moving on.

Re: ASTON VILLA Vs ARSENAL : FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 5:30pm.
So the players at AVFC let the club and fans down again.
Really I have just become numb in acceptance now. A defeatist attitude which I have finally caught like a virus which has been running through the club for far too long.
I shouldn't be surprised that illness has finally triumphed over my Villa supporter anti-bodies because seemingly even though the personnel change, those new players succumb to it in the very same way as their predecessors do.
I looked at Tim Sherwood after the game and he was very nearly in tears suffering at what had gone on before him. You see Tim Sherwood has been surrounded by winners all his playing career and indeed during his short term as manager of Spurs. He simply couldn't believe that a team he was associated with could produce such an inept performance in which many of the players simply hid and in particular golden boy Benteke who used the Arsenal central defence in the same way a child would to hide behind a post not wanting to be seen.
So will Tim Sherwood catch the same virus? Actually accept it like we all have now, or as locking the players in the Wembley changing room after the game was over and not giving an immediate interview would suggest he isn't going to catch it but actually try and instil a winning mentality into the club from the grass roots up?
Certainly I hope that by the start of next season two thirds of that Cup Final team will no longer have the honour of wearing our shirt and I include Benteke in that because his attitude on the pitch stank Wembley out.
Me, well, as previously stated i'm above hurting now as currently I have no expectation left especially when watching our chairman laugh as we were being stuffed in front of millions on TV.

Hopefully it all goes through ASAP, it'll be lovely to get some actual footballers in the team!

We couldn't match them for talent. Nothing that we can do on that score and no shame in that considering how much their team cost.
However we couldn't match them for effort or desire either today and that's unforgivable. Not picking on him in particular but I saw Cleverly standing on the same spot for about 30 seconds while Arsenal passed the ball around him at one stage.

Tim has said that some of the lads have been told that they definitely will not be here next season and should look for new clubs, according to the Beeb

Just on the way back to the in laws. Was truly gutted at the end. Refs in my eyes.
BUT a lot of people said before Albion that they'd take staying up ahead of a trip to wembley and Sherwod had delivered twice.
I am truly gutted we didn't win ( I was convinced it was out year) but Sherwood has done the job asked of him

Just got back from the game and words fail me how inept we were today, credit to Arsenal because they didn't let us settle or play but we didn't look up for it anyway, hopefully Sherwood has given them the bollocking they deserve after letting so many people down today.
