Aston Villa v Spurs all in one thread. Vent your spleen in here whilst awaiting another pathetic performance
Starting this early so we can all vent some anger before what will more than likely be a very miserable Sunday afternoon.
Do we stand any chance of getting a result against Spurs or are we in for another drubbing ?
Us fans are not going to take this shit anymore. Enough is enough.
Me, as always, going for a Villa win. My heart says that, not my head.
Should we set another new club record of a 6th straight defeat without scoring, or even just a 6th straight defeat then i get the feeling that things at B6 will turn very nasty indeed. It is time for us to do something about this total dross that we as Villa fans have to put up with week in week out.
I will put a poll up, but i think i know the way the votes will go.

Until we get Senderos (Our best defender by a country mile) Delph (our best midfielder by a country mile) & Hutton (Our most improved player by a country mile) back..we are screwed in my opinion... This team has shown repeatedly over many seasons that without even one of it's best four players it is not good enough...
Delph is out til January, Senderos injured, Hutton not sure? and Benteke nowhere near sharp yet
In other words we are ccurrently minus all four of our best players
As for Vlaar?....Nah... the guys head is already in Old Trafford he's a gonna.
To sum it all up in two words
We're screwed.
Another bad defeat upcoming of that i am 110% certain and i will not be wasting my time nor money visiting the theatre of disappointment (VP)

We'll huff and we'll puff, Westwood will give Spurs a regularly supply of misplaced passes, Weimann will give us a virtuoso performance of how to kick a ball with Toblerone shaped feet, Cleverly will again pass crisply sideways and backwards while failing to get any of his attempted crosses more than three feet off the floor, Gabby will run around in circles admiring the lush Villa Park turf without stopping to think about where on that turf he should actually be at any given moment, Benteke will be lost in thought about who he should sign for in January, Clark will continue to stay a respectful distance away from their strikers, and everyone will struggle to find another claret and blue shirt with that nasty round thing.
We will score though. Don't ask me how because it will probably be a total accident.
Villa 1 - Spurs 2. (or 3?)

I think all we have to do to work out the next few results is spot the next "Bad" record to be broken. We have just broken the most consecutive games lost without scoring one to add to Lamberts amazing collection so what else we on course for?
How about most minutes without scoring?
Or Most number of consecutive games with conceding 2 or more goals?
Anyone know what those records are?
Or how about least number of fans to attend a Villa home Premier League game?

The only issue I would take with you is that I think we fans will take it.
I think we have all been hammered into apathy by Lerner, Lambert et al.
We could lose 10 successive games (highly likely IMHO) and we'll just mutter amongst ourselves.
This time we are really well and truly screwed - a new experience for many younger (under 45) fans. It won't be pleasant.

With Lerner able to distance himself over the water from Villa reality every time things become dodgy, it's difficult to exert any pressure on the man. However, the one thing that is certain to get a response from him is if Fox can convince him that a large chunk of his investment is in danger of going straight down the Championship drain.Thinman wrote:NARLA24 wrote:Starting this early so we can all vent some anger before what will more than likely be a very miserable Sunday afternoon.

Lerner's loyalty to Lambert will disappear in a flash when he finally realises the cost involved.

A good point - I pray that you are right.
I just have no confidence that Lerner is capable of making good business decisions.

Well he certainly hasn't so far, can't believe that he has EVER made any money in business as he is completely and utterly useless at making any decisions!
As far as the game goes it will be another embrassing capitulation as Spurs run in 3 to our reply of ZERO (shots or goals take your pick)!

I take your point about Lerner's decision making. Hopefully the next decision he makes will at least be informed by Tom Fox's research.
My worry is that between Lerner and Fox the words "vision" and "story" might f*ck up the right appointment if Lambert is sacked.

My money is on going after the Crystal Palace record of 839 minutes without a goal in 1995. Well on course thus far. Another one for Roy Castle beckons!

The wheels haven't fallen off, it's the guts and heart that have fallen out. How did that happen so quickly to Lambert's "really good side"?
Does it have something to do with contract extensions, and a part time clock watching coach?

Lambert added: “I thought Tottenham were a good team last year and it’s not changed my opinion.
“It should be a hard game, they’re one of the top sides but we’re at home and we have to put a show on.”
Obviously that is a new remit so its going to be much better this Sunday!

Out of pure hope I've gone for a draw, 0-0!
That said I'm putting a bet on us and Man Utd to win on Sunday, £2 pays £28.

Lambert will go on the defensive, we will let in a goal, heads will drop, could end up 3 nil, another day at the office same old game plan, he could lose the fan base completely on Sunday if we have a very bad day.

Jeez, that low?
I was going to say that anything starting with a 2 will be a certain indicator that the fans have been alienated. But I suspect the club would somehow manipulate the numbers to ensure that doesn't happen.
Empty seats, m'lord.....
