Jamie Gray has retweeted a bloke on Twitter telling Villa fans to be calm and not believe the shit that's in the media. Apparently he's got a following and is a bit ITK.
Jamie?

Re: Fabian Delph
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but why the 4.5 year contract for such a (reletively) small release clause.
Why not a 1.5 or 2.5 extension.
Me thunks me smells bull shit from a lazy journalist who's trying to justify his position.

Re: Fabian Delph
Paul Lambert has really shown himself for what he is over this weekend, if we didn't know already.
Giving journo's details of players contracts. He must be really bored out of work.
He will never manage a club as big as Villa, again.

Yep, Harj seems as clued up as anyone. He barely tweets & when he does it's worth listening to. Tbf what he's saying is just common sense, everyone's getting a wee bit hysterical

Re: Fabian Delph
Harj is clued up. Fabian Delph was out in Leeds on Friday night. He said he was approached by City and United but he said no and told them that he is Villa. Not sure if the clause is true or not though. He has recently bought a house in Solihull.

Re: Fabian Delph
This is all just paper talk, regardless if there is a buy out clause, I can see Delph leaving, if he wanted to go he wouldn't have signed the new contract, I've read on numerous forums he did to make sure we got a fee if he left, thus to me utter tosh, no footballer would do that regardless of how loyal they are, Delph can see exactly what we all can see, that Man City need home grown players, if he was to go there he'd be limited to games, they just lost milner who is just as good if not better, they offered him a big contract but he knew his game time would be more limited than before, so I can't see Delph going there.
On Tekkers, if he is go it will be on our terms, and that will be £32.5 million if the buy out is to be believed, not a mish mash of cash and scousepools left over crap.
I was listening to talksport this morning and Ray Wilkins was on all morning and even though he didn't say much either way, his tone sounded confident of us keeping our better players.
I think we all just need to sit tight and see what happens before the season starts.

It's feeling more and more like the harder it is to get any actual facts out of the club, the rags are resorting to any old crap to try and fill the void. Maybe they're trying to passively extort some kind of official news.

Re: Fabian Delph
Why would Delph leave Villa to join a club where he'll just sit on the bench ? the guy's turning into a regular for England playing regularly for Villa. Would be a massive backwards step in his career to join City and he can ask Sinclair and Richards about the fantastic things City have done for their careers. If the press is to be believed (and it's not) Wilshere said something to the effect of "I'm not going to be anyones quota filler" and i think Delph will see things the same way. Would Pogba count towards their quota as he was brought through the United youth system ?

Pogba? No, I believe he left a few weeks too soon to be qualified as 'home grown'. What sort of BS process is that?

To be honest i find the whole "home grown player" thing confusing and fail to see its purpose. If it's about trying to strengthen the national team then it's not really effective as players like Fabregas are classed as home grown.

Also (the journo approach), throw enough shit and some of it is going to stick...
But that doesn't work either - I mean which journo's/papers "broke" the Wilkins/Richards stories. Journo's are kept at harms length by clubs more than ever - and as a result by not getting their "exclusives", they are turning into a more spiteful lot by the day. W4NK3R$ :wanker:

Re: Fabian Delph
Yeah. I think that was the initial aim, then they realised the 'Sky' clubs would get mad, so they changed the rule to suit them. It's all a load of utter bollocks.bruka wrote:To be honest i find the whole "home grown player" thing confusing and fail to see its purpose. Re: Fabian Delph
The club captain is normally present at Villa kit launches, so Delph's absence is probably not good news. Or am I being unduly negative?

Re: Fabian Delph
Im guessing that all the players who were at international games at the end of the season will get extra time off. Thats probably why we had no Goalkeeper present either as Given and Guzan were on international duty.
